Janine Records Kosek originally studied fine art and filmmaking, working in graphic design and writing and producing training films and materials. Her interest in Social Work was sparked while caring for a relative receiving hospice care, which exposed her to the challenges of chronic pain and illness and grief.
In her 50s, Janine returned to pursue her Masters of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Central Florida, where she was honored with a Hartford Foundation Fellowship in Aging Studies. Initially starting as a volunteer, she transitioned into a career focused on compassionate counseling and mental health support, helping individuals review their life stories.
People can rewrite their scripts and find new meaning.
With a primary focus on changing one's role and script, Janine offers compassionate counseling that guides clients in exploring new roles while finding meaning and a sense of purpose. Many clients seek mental health support for issues such as: chronic pain or illness, anxiety, depression, adult ADHD, grief, life transitions, aging, end of life, past trauma, and relationships.
Janine provides telehealth therapy options to ensure accessibility for those who may be navigating these challenges, including support for Medicare recipients in Arizona and Oregon.
Janine provides compassionate counseling using eclectic, evidence-based methods tailored for each client, particularly those dealing with chronic pain and illness.
Currently, she exclusively offers telehealth therapy to ensure accessible mental health support. Her approaches include Acceptance and Commitment, Positive Psychology, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral techniques, EFT - Tapping, Expressive Arts, Family Systems, and Pain Reprocessing, all designed to meet the unique needs of her clients, including those covered by Medicare in Arizona and Oregon.
We believe that therapy, including compassionate counseling for those dealing with chronic pain and illness, should be accessible to everyone.
